Garrett Park Swimming Pool Association board members are available for regular monthly board meetings, pool social events, and are frequently onsite throughout the pool season.

The board is always looking for interested civic-minded members of our pool to help guide the direction of the GPSA. Please contact a board member for more information about how you can get involved. Board meetings are held about once a month during the year, and members are always welcome. Meeting dates are posted on the pool calendar.

Donna Callejon

Donna Callejon

President

Donna Callejon and her partner Debbie Whiteside have been Garrett Park residents and pool members since 1998. Soon after arriving in GP, Donna wrapped up a 15-year career at Fannie Mae and then spent 19+ years building and leading GlobalGiving. In addition, she has served on local, national, and international boards. Donna loves travel, exercise, enjoying good meals, and hanging out with family and friends, especially Debbie’s two children and their spouses, their grandkiddos Harris and Charlotte, and the family’s many pups.

Valerie Craig

Valerie Craig

Vice President

As a sun and water lover, the pool was a major draw for Valerie to move with her family to the neighborhood in 2017. The first neighborhood friends came from the pool and it has continued to be a source of fun and community as the years have gone by. Valerie loves to hike, walk with the family dogs (Cheddar and Gouda), and spend time with family and friends.

Chris Keller

Chris Keller

Treasurer

We live in GP and enjoy the pool. I also enjoy numbers, landscaping, and walking my dog.

Michael Tribble

Michael Tribble

A former neighbor convinced Michael that he must join the pool BEFORE his family decided to move to Garrett Park Estates in 2016. Since then, friends and the incredible pool community have made hot summer days in Maryland an absolute treat. When not at the pool, you’ll find the family—wife, Sarah, kids (and proud Ladybugs) Gavin and Eliza—walking their new dog, Loki, through the neighborhood. Currently, Michael works at National Geographic.

Barbara Jackson

Barbara Jackson

Barbara has been a pool member since 1959, a swim team member, a gate attendant and served as co-Treasurer and in charge of hiring for a previous GPSPA Board in the early 1990’s. Recently Barbara worked with the Board to help settle the dispute over the noise of adult parties. Barbara is a graduate of Georgetown University with an MBA in Finance from George Washington and previously worked for a number of defense contractors before, “retiring” to volunteer work and to rear three sons and daughter with her husband, Bill Rienstra.

K-Lee Bowman

K-Lee Bowman

Membership

K-Lee became a pool member in 2021 and joined the board in 2022. She loves spending time at the pool on summer evenings and weekends and bringing guests along. K-Lee enjoys collecting houseplants, reading, hiking, spending time with friends and family, and trying new restaurants. She lives in Silver Spring with her husband Jesse and very opinionated dog Queso.

Jean Horan

Jean Horan

Jean was appointed to fill an open Board position in May 2012. She previously was secretary and president. She is interested in returning to continue automating communication with our members, working with the pool managers, and representing the interests of the swimming community. In addition, her daughter, Gianna, is a Ladybug, so she understands the interaction the Board should have with the swim team leadership. She also serves on the Women’s Club board.

Bridget Giblin

Bridget Giblin

Bridget has been a pool member since moving to Garrett Park several years ago. All three of her now adult kids are former swim team members and lifeguards. She has participated in the Master’s Swim program for the past 15 years, and when she’s not swimming, she enjoys hiking and any activity that involves the outdoors. Currently, Bridget is the Secretary for the pool board.

Bernie Dennis

Bernie Dennis

The Dennis family has long been involved in the Garrett Park Swimming Pool community. Bernie’s father watched the Pool being built and learned to swim here. Bernie learned to swim here as well, visiting his grandmother on Aurora Drive in the summer. Bernie and his wife Megan now live on Aurora Drive and are excited to be members of the Pool community themselves. Bernie joined the Board to help it grow as a place for his three children, James, Norah, and Molly, to play and learn how to swim.

Amanda Darman-Allen

Amanda Darman-Allen

Amanda Darman-Allen grew up in Montgomery County and swam on two separate MCSL swim teams (Olney Mill and River Falls). She also swam nationally for RMSC and NCAP and eventually for the University of Maryland (before they sadly cut the swim program). She joined the pool immediately after moving to Garrett Park, where she enjoys the simple joys of the summer pool season with her husband, Spencer, and their two kids, Graham and Ellie.
