Board members are available during regular meetings of the Garrett Park Swimming Pool Association, during pool social events, and frequently throughout the pool season. Please share your comments, concerns, and suggestions!
We are always looking for interested civic-minded members of our pool to help guide the direction of the GPSPA. Please feel free at any time to contact a board member for information about how to get involved. Pool board meetings are held from time to time during the year and members are always welcome. Meeting dates will be posted here and on the website calendar.
2020 Members Meeting – TBD – mostly held at 7:00pm at the Garrett Park Town Hall
|2012-2020||KRISTA Merker Reilly & her husband Patrick have been members of the GP pool since 2004. They have 3 children: Nic (18) is a senior at WJ & Gate Guard; Gabrielle & Christopher (16) are 10th graders at WJHS and are Ladybugs & Lifeguards. Membership is Krista’s focus for the board. Krista works downtown for the Personal Care Products Council – a non-profit.|
|2014-2020||KATE Fritz grew up at Garrett Park Pool, on the swim team, teaching lessons, and working as a desk attendant & lifeguard. She has been living in White Flint Park with her husband, Brandon, and children since 2006. Delia (13) and Teddy (11) are long-time members of the Garrett Park Swim Team, and Cole (5) joined the 2018 pre-team (almost 5). Kate works for Ripple Effect Communications at NIH and spends her free time representing GPES to the WJ cluster, shuttling kids to practices and games, or at CrossFit Hard.|
|2018-2020||SUZANNE Stievater joined the pool just after moving to White Flint Park in 2010. She is an active volunteer with the swim team where her children enjoy spending their summers. Suzanne graduated from The University at Buffalo with a degree in Accounting and Management Information Systems. She worked in information technology for 10 years before deciding to dedicate her time to her family.|
|2018-2020||NIKKI Forry lives in Garrett Park with her husband (Sam) and son (Jonathan, age 4). The Garrett Park pool is one of our favorite places, especially for dinner picnics. Nikki is a stay-at-home mom, working part-time at a non-profit research firm, who loves to swim, bike, run, and do anything outside!|
|2012-2019||JEAN Horan was appointed to fill an open Board position in May 2012. She was initially the secretary, and now has been the president for the last 3 years. She is interested in returning to continue the task of automating communication to our members, working with the pool managers, and representing the interests of the swim community. Her daughter, Gianna, is a Ladybug, so she understands the interaction that the Board should have with the swim team leadership. She also serves on the Women’s Club board.|
|2017-2019||BARBARA Jackson has been a pool member since 1959, a swim team member, a gate attendant and served as co-Treasurer and in charge of hiring for a previous GPSPA Board in the early 1990’s. Recently Barbara worked with the Board to help settle the dispute over the noise of adult parties. Barbara is a graduate of Georgetown University with an MBA in Finance from George Washington and previously worked for a number of defense contractors before, “retiring” to volunteer work and to rear three sons and daughter with her husband, Bill Rienstra.|
|2017-2019||ELIZABETH Dirgins has lived with her husband Will and daughters Lily (14) and Sanna (10) in Garrett Park and Kensington since 2006, and they have been pool members and Ladybugs since. She and her family have loved the pool, the people, and the neighborhoods surrounding it since the day they moved in, having moved three times within the two zip codes just so they could stay. She has been an active volunteer with the swim team, and is our go-to for food truck presence and approach at the pool.
She works at Volkswagen of America, Inc as at VP, CX and Digital Product, Captive Lending. and her husband works for Egon Zehnder International. Her daughters are proud Garrett Park Elementary School alumni and currently both attend the Holton Arms School in Bethesda.
|2017-2019||PATRICK Maloney moved to Garrett Park with his wife, Lesley, in 2010, and they became members of the pool soon thereafter. He is the proud parent of Emmakate, a 2018 Pre-team Ladybug, and (potentially) future Ladybugs, Jack and Collier.|

Bob is a retired energy analyst and engineer for the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission with a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Maryland. Bob is returning to the pool board to share his expertise on our operations as we look to the future of our facilities.|
